Six blocks in one match: who produced them — and who went even bigger?
In the 2025-26 men's SV League, there were 44 player-games with exactly five blocks.
Five is already a big number.
But adding just one more made the feat much rarer: there were only 15 player-games with exactly six blocks all season.
Here we call six blocks “block production” and follow those performances — before going one step higher.
Six blocks — produced only 15 times
Two players reached six on opening day, October 25. Dmitriy Muserskiy had six against Osaka Bluteon as Suntory Sunbirds Osaka won 3-1, while Keigo Nishimoto had six against Wolfdogs Nagoya as Hiroshima Thunders won 3-2.
Jan Kozamernik, Koru Watanabe, Taylor Averill, Tsai Pei-Chang and Norbert Huber later reached six, followed after the turn of the year by Kirill Klets, Bartosz Kurek, Torey DeFalco, Issei Otake, Peng Shikun, Timo Tammemaa and Taishi Onodera.
Klets was the only player to record exactly six blocks twice: against STINGS Aichi on January 10 and Shinshu Matsumoto Tridents on February 7.
Teams went 11-4 in the 15 games in which a player produced exactly six blocks — a 73.3% winning percentage.
Then came the even bigger seven
Seven blocks in one match.
Only two players reached that number in the 2025-26 men's SV League.
Egor Kliuka was first, recording a season-high seven against Tokyo Great Bears on November 2.
Kentaro Takahashi matched him with seven against Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers on November 28.
Both performances came in 3-0 wins. In other words, each player amassed seven blocks in only three sets.
The two seven-block performances produced two wins from two matches — a 100% winning percentage.
44 at five, 15 at six, only two at seven
The rarity becomes clear when the numbers are placed side by side.
Five blocks: 44 player-games.\n\nSix blocks: 15.\n\nSeven blocks: 2.
Only one additional block separates each level, but the number of performances falls sharply.
Kliuka and Takahashi's seven blocks were the single-match high in the 2025-26 men's SV League.
Will we see eight this season?
Now comes the 2026-27 season.
The next number to watch is eight blocks in one match.
Kliuka and Takahashi shared last season's high, while several players who reached six are back this season.
Last season's peak was seven. Will someone push it to eight in 2026-27?
Alongside the scoring leaders, single-match block totals are worth watching this season.
